An equally begrudging and hopeful plunge into a bookish blog.
Welcome to and perhaps beware of what will surely be a disorganized, intermittent, stream-of-consciousness-style brain dump.
It emerges in the wake of continued targeted book banning, online censorship, algorithmic suppression, propagation of disinformation, far right political ideology & hate speech, and bans on apps like TikTok which result in the further entrenchment of the media market monopolies of oligarchs. (Deep inhale).
So, I am just here to write — to yell into the void, maybe, about the issues that matter to me, about the books that change me, and about the writing that has revealed me more clearly to myself, without so much concern for what the algorithm might favor, and as an exercise in decreasing my use of and dependency on mainstream social media. I anticipate that the situation will continue to worsen as fascistic propagandizing and capitalistic decay erodes the existing connective networks that we have now. This is a very, very small attempt to maintain a connection with the incredible community I found, and lost, on a silly, now-defunct application. If this goes belly-up, everyone on the email list is going to receive notes by carrier pigeon.
